Take the first step in your professional diving career by becoming a PADI Divemaster!

Located in the heart of the Coral Triangle and blessed by some of the highest marine biodiversity in the world, Scuba Junkie truly is a special place to become a Divemaster. Working closely with our multilingual and friendly Instructors, you'll expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills as you become a dive professional. We will introduce you not only to the role of PADI Divemaster but also to the incredible diversity of marine life here and to your responsibility as a dive professional to help preserve the marine environment.

What will you do as a PADI Divemaster?

Weeks one to four are dedicated to the core requirements of the course. Your time will be split between theory sessions designed to give you all the background knowledge expected of a PADI Divemaster and practical in-water sessions. Practical sessions will range from assisting instructors on a variety of PADI courses from Open Water to Rescue, learning how to safely guide certified divers in a variety of dive sites and conditions, fine tuning your all important rescue skills, conducting your own dive site mapping project, practising your 20 basic skills & participating in Deep Dive and Search & Recovery Workshops. We'll also assess your swimming skills and if there's time of course, throw in a fun dive or 2!! During this part of the training you can expect to log around 50 dives and will spend around 5 to 6 days a week in the water.

What do I need to start?

Where will I stay?

Throughout your DM course here at Scuba Junkie Komodo you will be staying in our beach front dive resort in the beautiful bay of Warloka. On the doorstep of Rinca Island and closer to all the dive sites in the national park than if you were staying in town. You will have the comfort of a purpose built beach and dive resort, access to the fantastic house reef just in front for skills, shore and night dives which, most importantly, allows you to get in the water all the time, something that you cannot do if staying in Labuan Bajo town or waiting for space on dive boats or livaboards...we just kit up and walk into paradise! The best accommodation for DMTs are our bales. These comfortable and affordable twin share rooms have a spring mattress, fans, mosquito net, electrical outlets, bamboo sides and a blind at the front. From here we will conduct you comprehensive DM course in a fun, safe and educational way while interacting with our guests, staff and learning all there is to know about becoming a professional Scuba Diver.....
